Disability Insurance Claims FAQ

Why did my insurance company deny my claim for disability?

Insurance companies do not want to pay insurance claims that they do not believe are supported by the medical documentation. However, sometimes insurance companies fail to consider all medical evidence in denying disability claims.

What should I do if I think my long-term disability claim has been denied unfairly by my insurance company?

Although the idea of going up against a big insurance company can be intimidating, a client should contact an insurance benefits lawyer if they feel their insurance company is not treating them right.

Do I have the right to appeal a denial by my insurance company?

Yes, you do have the right to appeal the original decision made by your insurance company. Take note that there are certain time frames that must be met in the appeal process so be sure to turn in required paperwork and forms in a timely manner in order to improve you chances of getting your claim approved.
